The habits, attitudes, tastes, moral standards, economic level that together constitute the mode of living of an individual or group.
Well isn’t that just an interesting definition. I take that to mean wherever I am in my life, my moral compass, job, salary and my daily habits dictate my lifestyle. Now that doesn’t sound that bad? It actually sounds fine and has a positive twist on it.
The interesting thing with this word is it typically has a negative connotation to it. If you drink that’s a bad lifestyle, smoke and it’s worse, have a low paying job and that’s even worse yet.
There seems to be two facets to this word. A good lifestyle and a bad lifestyle. No shades in between. Exercise, eat right, treat people fairly and you have a good lifestyle. Don’t exercise, eat out regularly, and are feisty and you have a bad lifestyle.
I say this… I might not be a size zero and 5’8″ tall nor am I a VP of a large corporation, I cuss a little, eat out periodically, am NOT a gym rat but what I do have is strong morals and ethics and I treat people fairly and with respect.
I say I have a great lifestyle…yup that’s my story and I’m sticking to it:)
